Blogger's Quilt Show

First, a confession .... I opened this account so I could participate in the Blogger's Spring Quilt Show! Whew! With that off my chest I can tell my quilt's story.

I love the movement of the "Storm at Sea" pattern and have wanted to make one for several years. I was able to take a class at Quilter's Paradise from Wendy Mathson, author of A New Light on Storm at Sea. To my astonishment I was able to create my quilt Chicken of the Sea. I was able to connect two things I enjoy, quilting and chickens. I love this little quilt and it brings me great joy! I have since made several others and enjoyed each moment in their creation.

  3. Very nice. I made this pattern as a mystery last year. I saved the pattern for a year. I never would have made it otherwise, but it looked good in the red and green. I wish I'd made the bigger version.

  11. Wow, what a stunning quilt! Just lovely! Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog. Actually, the double take quilt I made is super simple. It is just two different prints of fabric. Two plain fabrics (brown and orange) and two printed fabrics (one brown one with white flowers and the same in an orange). It looks a lot like lace but really it is just a print fabric. It just gives a neat illusion.

  16. Storm at Sea is such a fascinating pattern- it gives the illusion of curves without curve piecing. I have often thought of making it for my brother in law and sister in law in NFld.
Yours is a terrific version- there are so many terrific patterns out there - doesn't it just make you want to go and make so many new quilts?
Thanks for sharing your beautiful quilt.
    Regards,
    Anna
